A Foundation For Hope

A foundation led by one of the world’s foremost neurosurgeons is helping patients diagnosed with several difficult medical conditions.

Early in his career, Dr. Peter Jannetta developed the revolutionary cure for trigeminal neuralgia, a condition producing agonizing facial pain.

Dr. Jannetta has educated hundreds of neurosurgeons on several continents in the Jannetta Procedure, which has brought relief to thousands of patients around the world.

Today the Jannetta Procedure is used to treat many other conditions (see box at right), and Dr. Jannetta has created the nonprofit Jannetta Neuroscience Foundation with two major purposes.
  • Educate patients diagnosed with conditions that may be treatable with the Jannetta Procedure about possible next steps in their treatment.
  • Perform rigorous research that advances neuroscience relating to vascular compression of the brain stem and cranial nerves, and the effects on the human body.

The anticipated benefits: patients’ lives improved, leaps forward in the practice of medicine, and countless healthcare dollars saved.
